Yay!

Yesterday, January 26, one of my favorite comedians, Arj Barker, who always has a great segue lined up dropped his first solo comedy album LYAO.

I cannot wait to listen to this. You may know Arj from his popular stage show The Marijuana-louges or Comedy Central Presents, or maybe you recognize him as "Dave" the hilarious character on Flight of the Conchords. His punchlines and delivery are both amazing, making audiences all over the world laugh. Barker's CD is twelve tracks long, and each title is a common communication abbreviation like LOL and OMG.

Watch ARJ, buy his CD, and get TICKETS to his upcoming tour!

MC Battle in NH

Club 550 is a nightlife hot spot in North Conway, NH. For the third year running, it has been the spot for Bring the Noise Entertainment's MC Battle.

The battle went down January 24. The place was packed with almost 200 people waiting to see rap acts from NH, CT and NY. One of the artists that I play on the show entered the competition and came out all the way on top. General Money performed with his bassist Tod Engel and wowed the three judges. He trumped in all the areas that were being judged on; lyrics, stage presence, style and overall performance.

This was a huge step for General Money and Crank Records. Not only did he walk away with the top cash prize, but he also was noticed by the prominent producer Edwin Ramos. That is a name that you should know.

As taken off his myspace, Edwin's accomplishments include:

"2 Grammy nominations for R+B Album of the year, 2 major motion picture soundtracks, 2 #1 Billboard Albums, Gold, Multi-Platinum and a Grammy Award Winning song "He Think I Don't Know" for R+B Superstar Mary J. Blige and on more than 20 million record sales worldwide"

So check out what Edwin sees in General Money, and go download Money Call Mixtape Volume 1 for free, or order a copy of The U.N. Congratulations to General Money and the Crank Records family!

Get Yo Hair Cut!

Roslyn, NY (January 6, 2009) It has been said that style has a soundtrack. From the pompadour to the beehive, Mop Top to Mohawk, beauty and music have always shared the stage. On Tuesday December 1st 2009 at 9am, enter Salon Rock, stage left!

This brand new 1000 sq ft salon located at 1372 Old Northern Blvd in historic Roslyn NY and situated on the famous Roslyn Pond is a truly one of a kind full service experience catering to all, even those with the most discerning of tastes. Salon Rock presents a fusion of high quality hair design and the electric culture of rock and roll to Long Islanders in a never before seen way. Patrons frequent Salon Rock for the freedom to express their individuality, and are the types who have the confidence to truly show off their unique sense of style - and sometimes to even make a little noise - visually.

Owner and founder Stephen Marcuccio could be called a modern day renaissance man. Not only is he renowned as a beauty industry innovator amidst a hugely successful 25 year career in operating exclusive and well traveled salons, a search into Stephen’s alter ego finds a man with a dynamic career as a music producer, publisher and the one who created the concept behind Farmingdale’s legendary The Downtown Concert Venue.

Mr Marcuccio remarked “My goal with Salon Rock will be to combine the two great passions of my life – beauty and music - to form something new and exciting”.

The interior design of Salon rock infuses a modern-minimalist style with the theme of rock and roll. This is carefully conveyed through the use of large scale fashionable graphic images and multi-media plasma screens displaying of all genres of music.

From the Salon Rock Website: “Amplify your natural beauty in our newly designed, sophisticated salon. We specialize in superior hair styling and coloring to create a personalized hair design that’s truly indulgent and totally you”.
