The General's Back for 52

Today's show was awesome. General Money came down along with Tristan from TNM Recording Studios. We had a great time answering phone calls, talking about you know you're a rapper when, and even throwing a prank phone call into the mix. The show was a hit, and I suggest downloading it as a whole, but you always have the option to grab just the Interview or Moment of Zen.

General Money's Black and White Event

After having General Money come to NY for two interviews and for Band's Aide, I took Young Bobby and my lovely Jess to go see the General up in New Hampshire. After driving up from NY, and having a delicious meal at Blue Latitudes, the crew headed over to the Dover Brick House to meet up with G.

The Brick House is tucked away in a corner of downtown Dover. The base floor was the main bar, and then upstairs is where the semi-formal was going to take place. General Money was already up there setting up for the event, checking the levels for the mics and the music, blowing up balloons, and setting up the promotions table with CDs, cupcakes, and General's Blast. Around 8 o'clock the doors opened and people slowly started to trickle in. By 9pm the place was almost full and the first performer Saint D was getting ready to take the stage. Everybody was getting their drink on (who was over 21) and the new hip-hop/r&b artist performed for the first time ever, and it was apparent. He had his hand in his pocket and seemed really nervous on stage. Good for the crowd the next act coming up had a little more experience on stage.

After Saint D and a short DJ intermission, Constantino was on stage next. He did a very good job getting into his songs and trying to get the crowd moving. He even had a song with another rapping friend of his Relapse. The crowd seemed to dig it, with his songs about partying and girls. But none of these guys could really even up to General Money.

From the moment General Money took the mic, the atmosphere of the crowd changed instantly. The General was out in the crowd, interacting with everyone in the room. People got up to dance as G brought them into his performance. That's one thing General Money is awesome at, he always brings his act to the people, and it's infectious. Every person there was having a blast. General Money provided not only an awesome performance, but also cupcakes, cds of the UN, stickers, and the opportunity to win a 16 gig ipod nano!

At the event was the whole Crank Records family. The guys behind General's Blast, Team Energy, set up a showcase of General Money's energy drink line. There was also Tristen from TNM Recording Studios. Luckily for him, he won the Ipod from the giveaway, which was great because out of all the sound equipment he has, an Ipod was probably the only thing he was missing. Everyone had an amazing time, and try to prove me wrong, but I learned that people in New Hampshire are way cooler and more laid back than anyone back on the Island.

Huge props to the General for putting on another amazing performance! I can't wait until the next show!

General Money @ UVM for Benefit

The scene is the beautiful college campus of the University of Vermont. In a field of grass surrounded by new brick dorms, UVM was hosting a Relay for Life walk on April 24, 2010. This was a full day of music, socializing, and learning about cancer and those who live and have lived with it. Zack's Entertainment knew that General Money is all about charity and helping people, so he had him put on the musical bill. With 850 preregistered people, this event was expected to be huge. On the day on the event, over one thousand people showed up to give their support to the cause.

Everyone there was helping out. There were tents set up around the perimeter of the track with sororities and fraternities selling food and had carnival games to raise extra money. In the middle of the field there was the stage. There were a few musical acts of different genres, but the one that stood out the most was the General himself.

The stage opened up for General Money at about 10pm, four hours into the event. Once he hit the stage the show started and everyone was feeling the positive energy. “Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and General Money rocked the house!” said Zack from Zack Entertainment, “General Money got people singing with him and the mascot had a lot of fun!”

This comes as no surprise for anyone that has seen General Money perform. He is always getting out to his audience and pushing himself to get on everyone’s level an then bring them to his. While he was on stage, he would jump off to the track and walk with all the people, walking and rapping with them. There was even one new fan who he met walking on the track that was really digging his music. He shared the mic with her during “Get That Gwop” and she loved it.

General Money also had a tent set up for the benefit. The Crank Record team was handing out General’s Blast to give a little extra boost for the walkers and participants, some autographed albums, and a ton of stickers that almost everyone was wearing! Before and after his performance, General Money was hanging out with everyone there, busy making friends and networking. That’s just The General for you, always putting in all of his energy to whatever he is doing. “General Money had a lot of energy,” said Sarah of the UVM Relay for Life group, “His voice was giving out, but he still gave 110%”.

Overall, it was a fantastic experience for General Money. The event itself lasted twelve hours and raised over 73 thousand dollars! It was a huge success and The General couldn't be happier than to help make a difference to better people’s lives, and in this case their futures. Be sure to check out http://relayforlife.org and don’t miss the next time General Money goes on for a live performance! You will love it!

Hot Streak 39

Friday's show was awesome! Special guest host General Money came in the studios to lend a hand on Uncharted Waves. We spoke to him about his most recent moves in making his way to the top. The General talked about a lot of things including his new recordings in TNM studios, his hot new tracks 'Mission' and 'Watch It', the Myspace hitting over one million views, his energy drink line General's Blast, and winning first place in the BTN MC Battle. It was a great time chilling with General Money on the show. We kept it interactive on the web cam and a white board while G Money's blackberry blew up, giving messages to the listeners. We also played a little hangman and gave away a copy of General Money's 'The UN' and Arj Barker's new solo album 'LYAO'. Download or stream the show, interview and the Moment of Zen, this show was chock full of goodness.

MC Battle in NH

Club 550 is a nightlife hot spot in North Conway, NH. For the third year running, it has been the spot for Bring the Noise Entertainment's MC Battle.

The battle went down January 24. The place was packed with almost 200 people waiting to see rap acts from NH, CT and NY. One of the artists that I play on the show entered the competition and came out all the way on top. General Money performed with his bassist Tod Engel and wowed the three judges. He trumped in all the areas that were being judged on; lyrics, stage presence, style and overall performance.

This was a huge step for General Money and Crank Records. Not only did he walk away with the top cash prize, but he also was noticed by the prominent producer Edwin Ramos. That is a name that you should know.

As taken off his myspace, Edwin's accomplishments include:

"2 Grammy nominations for R+B Album of the year, 2 major motion picture soundtracks, 2 #1 Billboard Albums, Gold, Multi-Platinum and a Grammy Award Winning song "He Think I Don't Know" for R+B Superstar Mary J. Blige and on more than 20 million record sales worldwide"

So check out what Edwin sees in General Money, and go download Money Call Mixtape Volume 1 for free, or order a copy of The U.N. Congratulations to General Money and the Crank Records family!

Helping Out The Community

In this economical crisis, it can be tougher for people more now than ever before. There are more homeless, more jobless, and more people that need help and are not getting it. We at Uncharted Waves believe that everyone deserves help on some levels, and so we are going out and doing something about it.

For the first time in it's first year of existence, Uncharted Waves and Chaos Promotions are hosting a benefit concert towards the end of September. This concert will represent our way of reaching out to people on a personal level. Not only will there great live music, but there will also be a ton of free stuff, awesome raffles and door prizes, and hundreds of very interesting people to talk to.

This show will benefit a young man who is in debt with hospitals for major surgery and multiple tests. One year ago he went to the hospital and had major surgery to have his large intestine removed. He did not have health insurance. He went back the beginning of June with terrible pain in his stomach and most of his body. After multiple tests and no answers, he went back home to wait until the next pain attacks came about.

We want to help him out. Help him keep his head high and help pay those bills. There are five great bands/artists that have agreed to come and play this show, and we couldn't be any happier to have these five down. The bands are Beneath A Blackened Sky, Anna Yvette, Piercing Silence, General Money, and Earth Eatz Dog.

This is all just the tip of the iceberg. With these great musicians there will also be events going on all day. Many sponsors will be present at the show with giveaways and special raffles. It will be a great event, and a guaranteed awesome party time. The best part of it all, is that all proceeds are going towards paying off the hospital bills. So anything you get there, will be helping someone out.

More details will be released within the next two weeks. I wouldn't want to spoil all the surprises though...so be sure to stay tuned for the details that are released and then come down to the show.

Attention! General Money Is In

What all started off as a child looking for answers and acceptance, grew into a tremendous movement of emotions flowing lyrically from General Money. Hailing from New Hampshire, G-Money spits some of the freshest tracks out right now.

General Money started rapping at a young age, and he's not planning on stopping any time soon. "It's been a long road" he was telling me on the phone, "but all this hard work, working little by little, really pays off in the end". This has been nothing but true for the General. When he first made it into the studio to record his first mixtape in 2007, Money Call Mixtape Vol 1, tens of thousands of people flocked to download it for free. This mixtape was so successfull and popular that General Money had to get into gear to work on a full length studio recorded album. His time behind the mic was well spent, and the U.N. was concieved. At this point, General Money was collaborating with other hip-hop artists of his calibur. The U.N. features Mo Deezey and Will Kindler.

General Money hit the ground running after the U.N. dropped. It was time to go even bigger, and General Money knew that he needed to take more steps to continue getting recognized, so Crank Records hit the internet. After the first week of launching his website, CrankRecords.net, buzz was happening and traffic flooded in from all around. It didn't stop there. By using websites like Twitter, Myspace, General Money started to become an internet sensation.

All of this and he still doesn't stop. It's all about moving forward and getting done what needs to get for General Money. He and his bassist, Tod Angel, play live shows that often get sold out. He takes time to go to radio stations for interviews and meet and talk to the people that are rocking out to his beats.

What's General Money doing now? Currently he's back in the studio working on the next album. He had also taken the time out to come and show love to NY. General Money came onto the show for an interview, freestyle, and to just hang out. He is an indie artist making all the right moves with the right attitude to further progress his musical career and spread his music to the world.

He represents, and we respect that.
