Power Outage

The power at the station blows out 30 min into Jess's first show that she is doing solo. Everything was going fine and dandy....until she's sitting there in the dark studio running on back up power that runs out in like 2 min.

Da F*@K?! Maybe it's time to have solar power so we never run out. Ahhhhhh now that's a good way to go green eh?

Anyways, we want to thank PIERCING SILENCE for coming out today. These guys are awesome, and we will have them on the show on a future date.

So we'll be back next week, and joining us in the studios is Petrel!!!

Petrel Sister's Rising Up

We have a lot of local gems here on Long Island, and three of these gems are named Jessica, Rebekah, and Destiny Petrel. These sisters form the band Petrel, a Pop/Rock group hailing from right here on Long Island.

Petrel's sound is bold and powerful. Along with the amazing vocal work done by Jessica, both Rebekah and Destiny play their own instruments and can sing. It really amazing to hear the voices of these girls, they are very talented.

The sisters have been very busy with putting on shows and doing charity work. Petrel has performed across the country at events such as a 17-city national tour as the opening act for the popular Razor & Tie CD Series "Kids Bop", the “Downtown Disney’s Indie Fest USA 2008”, and Crash Mansion in NYC. They have also been doing charity work across the globe, going into Mexico and Haiti to give out food to thousands of hungry children. While away doing charity they also put on a benefit concert for their thousands of Mexican fans.

If you haven't heard Petrel yet, listen to them HERE.

Want to see Petrel?? On Saturday April 11th at 7:30pm, PopCore Entertainment and Music School Inc will bring a one of a kind event to Adventureland (RT 110 Farmingdale, NY), as this years hottest commodity on the music business radar - Petrel - will perform a set of their soon to be worldwide hits. You can get free admission to the park before 6pm.

Come and hang out with us and Petrel!!

1/22 @ Vibe Lounge

For it's first month running, Unlabeled & Unloaded hosted by the Rob Rush on 94.3 fm and Rick Eberle from PopCore Entertainment, has been very successful. Thanks to the show and the weekly Thursday concert they put on, they have brought a local band to their first local show, and even a band all the way from the Boston area. Unlabeled is a show on 94.3 fm NY and Unloaded is the Club Loaded part.

The den (as I like to think of it) had a decent number of people hanging out. Everyone was waiting for the music to start up, because they knew of what a treat they were in for. The opening band, Vegas Temper, is a rock and roll gang from Massachusetts. With their hard sound mixed with their liveliness on stage they were able to get the place moving in no time at all. Everyone was digging the voice of lead singer Chris Taylor as he hit all the screams and the high notes. It really was a pleasure to watch these guys, I hope they come back to LI to give us another show.

The next show seemed to be what most people came out for. From our very own Long Island, the Petrel sisters came on stage for the first time, on Long Island. I had just read about them in Aural Fix magazine about a week before this show, and they are erally something else. Before humbling us with their presense, these three sisters have already travelled to many cities across the US, Mexico, Haiti. The really cool part is that they are going out to give people music, as well as help. While in Mexico and Haiti they are doing humanitarian work by day, and entertaining by night. Thousands of people come to see them perform, and I can't tell you how lucky Jess and I were to see them in such an intimate setting. Thank you girls for coming out and putting on a great show!

Last but not least were the guys from Half Circle Drive. I was actually outside at this point leaning over a curb, but Jess said that these guys rocked. She got some good pictures of these guys too before coming to my rescue. They rocked hard, and I guess a good adjective for their sound is...ripping. Check them out on myspace.

So 94.3 did a great job with this event, and it's great that you can catch four of these in a month. They are really bringing out big names from the circut, so be sure to follow on my calendar or club loaded's calendar to see who's playing a the Vibe Thursdays.

Pictures (will be here soon!), until next time,

peace
