1/3 @ Beery's

It's the night at Beery's I've been waiting for. Borgo Pass, Tombs, Black Anvil, and Inhuman, nd in that order.

The crowd was big at the bar, full of fans. The cool part was that everyone was of different walks and ages. It was nice to see some fifty year old bang his head to the heavy bass lines guitar riffs of Borgo Pass. It was amazing to finally see these guys perform. They put on quite a show, and I was surprised to learn that the lead singer James Tamarazzo had just gotten over being a little sick. Even so, he delivered to everyone there a great show. Same as the guitarist Gary Bennett from Black Anvil, he had a broken foot.

I had the chance to meet just about everyone from the bands. I love how chill everyone is. They are really dedicated to delivering their bests to their fans. When people come up to them after the show they always extend an arm even if they are busy breaking down the stage.

The stage had been removed for this show, so all the bands were standing on level ground with everyone. This made it really feel like a more personal show. The guys from Tombs were up next and brought more bass heavy riffs out for everyone. Then was Black Anvil, a black metal trash band that brought out a large handful of concert goers. They had everyone around them banging their heads. You could feel the energy moving through the crowd rhythmically.

Up next and last was Inhuman. With them came a small mosh pit and tons more energy. There were always fists in the air and hair flying around. It's these shows that really show that the metal and rock scene on Long Island is still well and alive. These guys are still going into the studios and writing new music to feed the hungry mouths of fans.

It was a great night, even one with a birthday party in the basement. It felt like a party all around the bar, and I can't wait to catch these guys again.

Until next time, peace.
